The Museum of Free Derry tells the story of how a largely working class community rose up against the years of oppression it had endured.

Permanent exhibitions at the museum include the Story of Derry and An Armada Shipwreck - La Trinidad Valencera. The museum also boasts the only open air viewing facility in the heart of the city centre with stunning panoramic views of the city and River Foyle.

The Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall
The Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall
The hall was opened in 1877, dedicated to the memory of the thirteen apprentice boys who closed the city gates in 1688. In 1937 the hall was extended along Society Street. The extension is dedicated to the memory of those who died in the Great War of 1914–1918.
